Waking up in Japan

Kitchen / Dining table.
Oven / Stove top. I love cooking with gas. In the middle is a fish broiler. Everything is in Japanese so there is a little bit of trial and error involved.

Our balcony.

The city outside our apartment and Mount Fuji in the background!

11 Stories up!

Hallway with all the storage!

Living room.

Love the bathrooms, sinks are very low though!

Baby Beau found his feet!

Soooo Cute!
Out on our first walk! One of the many play grounds / squares.

Dad and Beau! (Its cold!)

Mom and Beau! (Bikkle is delicious!)
Beau wakes up at about 445 - 515. It is actually nice going to bed early and waking up early. The apartment is about what I expected however, maybe bigger than what I imagined. We have a two room apartment, two full/queen size beds. I don't know what to call these beds because they are right in between a queen and a full. They have nice big down comforters on them and a hard pillow that has rice tubes in one side! Very happy we brought our own pillows! The apartments are incredibly clean. The bathrooms are bigger than our bathrooms at home. We have a hallway that is loaded with storage! The kitchen is small but has a nice big deep sink and oven that is big enough for most anything I want to cook and a gas stove top with 3 different pans. There are 4 forks 4 spoons 4 big plates 4 small plates and 4 bowls. We also have a little toaster oven and microwave. 4 cups and 4 coffee cups. A spatula ladle and wine opener. We also have two small fridges with pull out freezers in the bottom. Since we have a 2 bedroom apartment we have a little more stuff than the one bedroom people.
There is also a nice balcony that over looks some of the city. In random spots there are big patches of trees though so it is not all city.
The first day, I unpacked all of our clothes and Dane came home early with some groceries. We went out for a walk around town. I tried a coffee drink from one of the million vending machines you will see and it was gross! Just cold black drip coffee! Ha, too bad for me not knowing Japanese! There are some really good coffee drinks though and other juices. Every vending machine is different and some of them are hot drinks. There are play grounds all over the place! The weather here is very sunny and dry so far! Really cold! All the streets are so clean here. You hardly ever find garbage and the streets are so clean you could eat off of them! (I wouldn't however ;) )
Some people have small dogs. You hardly ever see a big dog. Animals are extremely expensive here.

  1. Yay! So fun to see where you live and how it's going. Baby Beau is too cute :) Kami has been going to sleep and waking up early too. We will be on the same schedule!
